A 78P9 in a Regelbau 105d of the "Zitadelle St.Malo"

 

This armoured plate is a 78P9, Pz.-Schartenplatte f. MG.34 and weighs 24 ton. De dimensions are 3.80m by 3m and the plate is 20cm thick. Two optics (Panzerbeobachtungswinkelfernrohren) were added to the plate for observation purposes and the opening for the M.G.34 could be gas-proof closed with a bullet-shaped stopper. De machine-gun was placed on a specially designed carriage (MG.34-Lafette).
