Schleusebunker were build to protect locks and docks. The building of these bunkers was the result of the Allied commando raid on St. Nazaire, France..
Two kind of Schleusebunker can be distinguished:

• The bunker protects the whole lock door (Dunkirque)
• The bunker is build over the complete lock. It also protect the ship that is in the lock.
