This U-Bootbunker is build at the Bassin de St.Nazaire. The construction has a total length of 124 m and is 291 m wide, the heights is about 18 m. The bunker has 14 docks (see drawing) The 14 docks offered room for 20 U-Boots. The U-Bootbunker was part of the defense of St. Nazaire.. For that purpose it had some machineguns, a Festungspak, a M19 (5cm Machinegranatwerfer, 5cm automatic mortar) and a observationcopula. The bunker can be visited today.
