SKI sites
Wasserwerken SKI sites Simple sites V1 Supply Chain

A typical "SKI" site consisted of the following constructions:

  • 3 SKI shaped storage building
  • a short building for storing the steam generator ("Dampferzeuger") and power generator.
  • a large rectangular building for assembly of the V1.
  • a bunker for fuel storage
  • a bunker for firing the V1 ("Feuerleitbunker")
  • a large, non-magnetic construction for aiming the V1's gyroscopes towards the target.
  • hundreds of meters of concrete roads
  • two wall of Formsteine to protect the ramp ("Schutzmauer")
  • several basins for cooling and decontamination water

Some examples of the these large V1 sites:

Le Nieppe, Feuerstellung 59

The remains of the non-magnetic building, for aiming and setting the V1 gyroscopes.

The building has 50cm brick walls and floor heating!

Remains of the protection wall for the ramp.

Remains of the protection wall for the ramp.

  Remains of the firingbunker.

Lisbourg, Feuerstellung 633

The long, rectangular shaped assembly building.

Short building for the steam generator and power generator.

Launching platform, with small peaces of the protection wall.

  Remains of the firingbunker.

  Waterreservoir.

  Fuelbunker.

Although this is a heavy site, there is no heavy non-magnetic building. For performing the same function, there is a platform to aim the V1's and set the gyroscopes.

When working on the V1's, they put a tent over the platform. The tent is heated, to protect the sensitive avionics.

Croisette, Feuerstellung 645

Remains of a SKI storage building.

  Not complete built fuelbunker.

  Remains of the non-magnetic building.
